Frequently asked questions
What is the format of a Dutch postal code?
A Dutch postcode consists of four digits and two letters, for example 1012 AB. The digits indicate the district, the letters a street or part of it.
How do I find my postal code?
Type your street name and house number into the search box and the exact code appears instantly. You can also browse by city and street.
Who manages postal codes in the Netherlands?
Postcodes are issued by PostNL. The address data on this site comes from the Key Register of Addresses and Buildings (BAG) maintained by the Kadaster.
How current is the data?
The site is periodically updated with the official BAG extract from the Kadaster. The date of the last update is shown at the bottom of every page.
Can one street have several postcodes?
Yes. On longer streets the code changes per house-number range, and even and odd sides often have different codes - always check the exact house number.
